1 Register your interest by completing the simple form on our registration page.

2 Download from the Key Stage Materials page of our web site:

(i) The questionnaire (either Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3/4);
(ii) Instructions for teachers;
(iii) Notes on the questionnaire.

3 Organise your pupils to complete the questionnaire at a suitable time for you as near as possible to the census day in October.

4 Enter the results from the individual questionnaires on to the summary template. You may do this yourself or give it to a trusted pupil acting like an enumerator in the real census. Follow the instructions on our web site. N.B. The summary sheet has to be returned electronically, it is not possible for us to process any paper returns.

5 Keep a note of your summary table for future use. You may like to compare your school's data with national and regional data from the census.

If you have any ideas for analyses that we have not provided then please let us know by email to CensusAtSchool@ntu.ac.uk. If feasible we shall do the analysis and make the results available to you and to others on our web site.
